Its 12 drive bays support SATA 3.5″ hard drives, as well as 2.5″ hard drives and solid-state drives.

To connect to a supported Synology NAS, the DX1222 uses a Mini-SAS HD port. It is powered by a 550W power supply that runs at 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz. Included with this unit is an AC power cord, a Mini-SAS HD expansion cable, two hard drive tray keys, and 52 screws for 2.5″ drives.
