Overview
The Edimax BR-6204Wg wireless 802.11b/g broadband router is a clever 4-in-1 device that combines all the functionality of a router, a 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch, a wireless 802.11b/g access point and an advanced firewall. The BR-6204Wg allows you to share your broadband (cable or xDSL*) connection around your home or office. It provides a safe and secure network connection with the benefit of a clutter-free wireless environment.  *You need an Ethernet (RJ45) cable modem or an Ethernet (RJ45) ADSL modem. BR-6204Wg cannot connect with a USB ADSL modem. The Edimax BR-6204Wg gives you additional functionality to setup and run a secure home office or small business network. The BR-6204Wg runs a secure firewall to stop intruders accessing your network. With content filtering functions, the BR-6204Wg allows you to control access to certain sites. It also encrypts all wireless transmissions ensuring all data are protected across the network and Internet. With Edimax�s intuitive set-up tools, securing your network and setting controls has never been easier. The BR-6204Wg has a wireless access point to connect any 802.11b and 802.11g devices.   The 4 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports allows you to connect up to four wired PCs to your network or daisy chain for even more users or devices.

IP Sharing
The BR-6204Wg automatically assigns IP addresses to connected PCs. The NAT/NAPT function enables you to share the broadband connection to all networked users (up to 253 users). 

Supports WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider)
The BR-6204Wg can share wireless Internet connection. It repeats the signal from wireless Internet service provider to your home or office and allows wired and wirelesscomputers connect to the Internet simultaneously.

Firewall security
The Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall protects your connected PCs from illegal access and several kinds of Denial of Service (DoS) attacks from the Internet and can even alert you by email if an intrusion is detected.

Wireless encryption for a safe wireless network
The BR-6204Wg protects your wireless network with a choice of 64 /128 bit WEP encryption, WPA-TKIP, WPA-AES, WPA Radius and the 802.1x and MAC address filtering.  This protects you and your network from hacking as well as preventing other people from accessing your network.

Virtual Server / DMZ
The BR-6204Wg provides virtual server and DMZ functions to let internal servers be accessed by remote users via the Internet.

DHCP
The BR-6204Wg provides a DHCP server function to assign IP address automatically to networked PCs.

Wireless Access Point
With the wireless access point function, users can let your IEEE 802.11g/b wireless client devices access the Internet through this router.

Special Applications
The BR-6204Wg provides extra functions to enjoy additional resources on the Internet. The Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) function allows you to enjoy applications like Messenger and games without any hassle. The port forwarding, port triggering and port mapping function allows you to use your VoIP, IPcam, IPTV at home to maximise your Internet connection.
