HighPoint Rocket 1580 Overview

Streamline your workflow by installing the Rocket 1580 8-Port U.2 Internal PCIe 4.0 Controller from HighPoint into an available PCIe 4.0 x16 slot. This internal controller features four U.2 ports, each of which supports up to two separately purchased 2.5″ SFF-8639 NVMe drives for high-bandwidth applications. However, using separately available adapter cables provides SFF-8643 and SFF-08611 Oculink compatibility. Installed drives may be configured with different RAID modes via the operating system’s built-in management tools. The Rocket 1580 controller is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 slots and is designed to work with Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019/2022, and Linux. A low-profile bracket is included. Please note that drive cables are not included.

To combat the threat of overheating, R1500 Series HBAs are equipped with the innovative Gen4 NVMe Hyper-Cooling System, which refers to this unique design’s ability to rapidly transfer waste heat away from critical NVMe and controller componentry to ensure your NVMe SSDs consistently operate within their recommended temperature thresholds, even under sustained heavy I/O. Each full-length anodized aluminum heat sink is equipped with ultra-durable near-silent fans and a high-conductivity thermal pad.
