HighPoint 6661A-4USB Overview

Connect additional Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A peripherals to your compatible Windows or Mac system using the RocketStor 6661A-4USB Thunderbolt 3 to USB 3.1 Gen 2 Adapter from HighPoint. This adapter is equipped with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, which provide bi-directional speeds of 40 Gb/s. While one port is used to interface with your host system, the other can be used to daisy-chain up to six devices together, including dual 4K displays or a single 5K display, thanks to support for DisplayPort 1.2. Thunderbolt 3 also supports 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C and provides 15W of power to compatible devices for charging.

In addition to the Thunderbolt 3 ports, the RocketStor 6661A-4USB has four USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports, each of which supports one USB device. Each of these ports is also driven by a dedicated USB controller, meaning that each port has 10 Gb/s of dedicated bandwidth, instead of the 10 Gb/s being shared between the four ports.

HighPoint’s RocketStor 6661A-4USB Thunderbolt 3 to USB 3.1 Gen 2 Adapter is compatible with Thunderbolt 2 devices, as well as USB 3.1 Gen 1 (USB 3.0), and USB 2.0. Please be aware that any daisy-chain connections will terminate if a peripheral or device is connected via USB Type-C. Included is a Thunderbolt 3 cable, a 60W / 100-240 VAC external power supply, and a power cord. Protection is provided by a limited 1-year parts & labor warranty.

This 4-in-1 combination is suitable for high-performance USB storage configurations, but is also fully capable of supporting any USB 3.1 Gen 2 (USB 3.1), USB 3.1 Gen 1 (USB 3.0), or 2.0 USB device or peripheral such as input devices, printers & scanners, or flash drives.

The RocketStor 6661A-4USB takes full advantage of HighPoint’s performance-driven USB 3.1 Gen 2 architecture. Unlike conventional USB cards, docks, and hubs, which split a single 10 Gb/s channel between two or more ports, the RocketStor 6661A-4USB provides dedicated 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 transfer bandwidth for each Type-A connector. This unique approach to USB connectivity is designed for high-speed USB-based storage applications.

The RocketStor 6661A-4USB is capable of supporting nearly any industry-standard USB port type when used in conjunction with the HighPoint USB-C31-1MA (Type-A to Type-C) and USB-A31-06B (Type-A to Micro-B) device cables. HighPoint device cables are manufactured to their standards of quality, and are thoroughly tested to ensure secure connectivity and fast data transfers.
