HPE Networking Instant On 1960 Overview

Add advanced powered devices such as IP security cameras, access points, and VoIP phones to your business’s network with the HPE Networking Instant On 1960 12-Port 1G / 2.5G PoE Compliant Managed Network Switch. The two 2.5G Ethernet ports can provide up to 60W of PoE++ power to compatible devices while the remaining eight 1G Ethernet ports support 30W each with a total power budget of 480W. Additionally, dual SFP+ slots and two RJ45 ports are available for 10 Gb/s uplink connections to compatible devices.

This rack mountable switch also supports true stacking, which allows you to link up to four compatible switches together and manage them as a single logical unit. The HPE Networking Instant On 1960 is designed with a 116 Gb/s switching capacity and 172 Mpps forwarding rate, and managed via a web GUI, a cloud interface, or mobile app.

True Stacking
True stacking allows the creation of a single logical managed unit with up to four HPE Networking Instant On 1960 switches in a ring or chain topology, using Cat 6A, long-distance fiber, or localized DAC cables. The switches in the stack can either be access or aggregator switches or a combination of both. The entire stack behaves as a single switch regardless of whether the stack is in a closet or spread over multiple miles.
Hybrid Stacking
Allows both access and aggregator switches to be connected in a single stack. Hybrid stacking helps in right-sizing the deployment by allowing a combination of aggregation and access switches to meet the needs of the deployment.
Built-In Security
Integrated security features protect your network from external threats by blocking malware attacks and keeping unauthorized users off the network. Network traffic can be filtered and access restricted based on MAC and IP address.
Optimized User Experience
The HPE Networking Instant On mobile app provides common workflows for Instant On switches and access points making it easier to configure, monitor and manage your network remotely without the need for additional hardware like cloud keys. You can also update firmware on your Instant On devices directly from the cloud whenever you want, from wherever you are.
