Easily add your camera’s HDMI output into an NDI network with this Kiloview N40 HDMI / NDI Bidirectional Converter. Mount the N40 on your camera’s accessory shoe, connect your camera’s HDMI output to the N40, and connect the N40 to your NDI network to enjoy all the advantages of NDI. The N40 features an HDMI output, which is either a loop through output while the N40 is encoding the input HDMI signal, or an output for when you use the N40 as a decoder. The N40 supports Tally signals and has a large Tally indicator. In addition, it supports PTZ camera control via IP, allowing you to use older PTZ cameras that feature HDMI output and supports RS-232 signals.

Power the N40 with a dedicated power supply or from your camera, via the USB Type-C port, or over PoE, making it simple to plug-and-play. In addition to encoding up to 1080p60 video for use over your NDI network, the N40 can also be designated as a webcam, allowing you to easily use the camera with remote video applications. An audio jack can be used to input analog audio or a headphone that supports mic in. The N40 can also be used off camera to decode the NDI stream back to HDMI, for display on an HDMI monitor.

NDI Basics
The NDI protocol is a high-performance standard that enables anyone to use real-time, ultralow-latency video on existing IP video networks. The Kiloview N40 supports bidirectional conversion between UHD 4KP60 HDMI and Full NDI. It can both encode UHD 4K HDMI signals into a Full NDI stream for output and decode Full NDI stream and output UHD 4K HDMI on your screen.
Use on Camera or in Rack
The flexibility of the N40 allows you to use it on camera, for instant conversion of your camera’s HDMI output (up to 1080p60) to NDI, while supporting Tally, for integrating your camera into a multi-camera production. In addition, you can use the same N40 unit in a rackmount situation.
Encode & Decode
This tiny device can do both NDI encoding and decoding, so you get two for the price of one. Changing the working mode on the UI to the mode you want via its Web based GUI. Please note that the N40’s encoding and decoding functions are mutually exclusive, and cannot be used at the same time.
Control with a USB Keypad
In decoder mode, you can preset the NDI sources from number 0-9. When your keypad is ready, you can easily choose the output source with a single press. Additionally, you can even use a USB keypad to control a PTZ camera for a cost-efficient PTZ Keyboard.
PTZ Control and Big-Sized Tally
The Kiloview N40 supports PTZ control through USB to serial RS232/485/422. It also supports PTZ control over IP with no extra cable required. The N40 has a large, bright, and distinct Tally light for PVW/PGM indication.
Power and Data
With PoE, the N40 can be powered with a single cable connection. With the design of wide DC input range from 5 to 18V, it can also be easily powered by USB power or camera battery.
Webcam
Easily designate Kiloview NDI encoders as the video input source in popular desktop video applications like Google Hangouts, GoToMeeting, Skype, Skype for Business, WebEx, Zoom, Teams, and more using the free NDI webcam input tool.
Audio Intercom
Kiloview N40 supports 3.5mm analog audio mic in/out or embedded audio. It also supports voice intercom by USB headset between devices directly or with Kiloview Intercom server.
