MuxLab 500760Ā Overview

TheĀ MuxLab HDMI 4K/60 KVM over IP Extender TransmitterĀ is based on SDVoE technology and extends a server/workstation with 4K support to one or more operators, who in turn can manage the server/workstation in a KVM workflow. The transmitter features an HDMI 2.0 input and allows up to a 328′ UHD 4K/60 extension over Cat 5e/6 cabling. It’s compatible with the corresponding HDMI 4K/60 KVM over IP Extender Receiver, sold separately. Transmission is with zero latency. The signal can be sent uncompressed at 4K/60 4:2:0 or with light, visually lossless compression at 4:4:4 sampling.

By setting up a transmitter per server/workstation and a receiver at each operator, with each pair connected over Cat 5e/6 from a 10-Gigabit Ethernet switch, up to hundreds of servers/workstations can be managed, depending on network bandwidth. The operator managing everything can connect a remote monitor, keyboard, mouse, and powered audio speakers on the receiver end to any of the servers/workstations in the setup. The transmitter also has a USB Type-B port and supports Smart Whiteboard applications over both USB and HDMI. It also offers 2-way IR for remote management of endpoint devices and provides RS-232 support via a 3-pin terminal block.

Two RJ45 ports are provided. One is a 10-Gigabit port and the other a 1-Gigabit port for connecting network devices. One of the supported optional control options is the MuxLab Pro Digital Network Controller, which is designed to simplify centralized configuration and control, and which allows for connectivity management from the MuxControl iOS/Android app as well as 3rd-party mobile apps.

Note:

When the transmitter is installed in an electrically noisy environment, an STP cable must be used. Also, cross-connection reduces the effective distance depending on the grade of twisted cable used.
