The Radeon R9 280X Graphic CardĀ (11221-00-20G) from Sapphire is an 870MHz graphics card that can be overclocked to 1020MHz. The card features an HDMI port with 3D and 7.1 channel surround sound support, a DisplayPort 1.2 port, a Dual-Link DVI-I port, and a Dual-Link DVI-D port, giving you a range of options when it comes to connecting monitors, HDTVs, projectors, and other types of displays. In addition, the HDMI and DisplayPort outputs can drive displays with 4K (up to 4096 x 2160) and 2K resolution.
The card requires a PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot for maximum performance and takes up two physical slots worth of space.
- Dual-X Cooling Technology
- A multi-heatpipe cooler with dual fans is designed to keep the card operating at a safe temperature even when overclocked. Fan speeds adjust to provide quieter operation under normal usage, bumping up to provide increased cooling during taxing operations
- Popular API Support
- With DirectX 11.2 and OpenGL 4.3 compatibility, the Radeon R9 280X Graphics Card can leverage graphics processing optimizations when running games and other types of software written for these APIs
- AMD Stream Technology
- When used with compatible software, leverages the power of GPU processing for many tasks traditionally handled exclusively by the CPU for better performance and a more balanced system
- CrossFireX Multiple GPU Support
- Combine GPUs to extend your total processing power using CrossFire Bridge Interconnect
- Enhanced Unified Video Decoder 3 (UVD 3)
- Offloads much of the processing involved in decoding Blu-ray DVDs from the CPU to the Radeon R9 280X Graphics Card to help your computer run cooler and quieter
- Eyefinity Technology
- Wrap around image across multiple displays for an immersive gaming experience. Supports 3D content, and allows connection of up to three displays using the DisplayPort output and an MST hub
- AMD HD3D
- Converts 2D images, including photos and movies, into simulated 3D when used in conjunction with a compatible 3D display
- TriXX Utility
- Utility software allowing you to tweak the card’s settings to achieve optimal performance in whatever application you choose to use it with
- AMD PowerPlay Power Management Technology
- Automatically regulates GPU power consumption, reducing the card’s power consumption to close nothing whenever possible, and shutting down any additional graphics cards added via CrossFireX when not needed
- Dual Firmware Support
- The card ships configured for systems using legacy BIOS by default; for newer systems with UEFI, a button on the surface of the card enables UEFI support, allowing you to take advantage of features enabled by UEFI firmware, including Windows 8 Secure Boot and faster boot-up times
