The TigerSwitch 10/100/1000 SMC8124PL2 is an intelligent Layer 2 PoE switch with 24 10/100/1000BASE-T ports, two of which are combo ports that are shared with two SFP transceiver slots. The IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet operates on all 10/100/1000 ports enabling IP phones or cameras to be installed without the need for extra power cables. Also it is comes installed with clustering software which will enable grouping together of up to 32 of other SMC6100 and SMC8100 switches. This 10/100/1000 workgroup edge switch is designed to provide a flexible management architecture including clustering but with the added benefit of PoE. It is capable of reaching up to 48Gbps with a non-blocking single chip switching architecture. It provides cost-effective, Ethernet switching for bandwidth-intensive networks that require advanced switching features to ensure smooth transmission of mission critical data. The comprehensive security features include RADIUS, IEEE802.1x, SSH, SSL,TACACS+, and ACL. High port -density and 1U high, this switch is ideal for SMB workgroup installations which need the benefits of PoE.
KEY FEATURES
Highest Performance and Lowest Power:As part of SMC commitment to green networking this switch family is designed around the latest generation switching silicon which can provide high performance and the low power requirements such as 38W for the SMC8126L2. Translating into approximately 1.4W per port for the 26 port and 1.3W per port for the 50 port.
MultiLink Trunking with LACP :Including the ability to bundle together the front panel ports to provide higher performing uplinks. Trunk links can be confi gured manually or using the 802.3ad standard which is supported on this switch family.
Flexible Security Features:Security is critical to next generation networks. This switch family includes a range of User and Device security functions which will help protect the network. Secure management interfaces for protecting device confi guration and secure user access using 802.1x or Private Vlans to prevent unauthorized access.
IP Clustering:Ease of management is crucial and to help deliver this we have included IP Clustering. This allows users to group together up to 32 switches as part of a logical cluster. The units can be part of this switch family or from the SMC61xxL2 family giving added fl exibility.
