All-in-One Network Management for Critical Systems

The B020-016-17-IP offers complete network management solution. It combines a 16-port KVM switch, keyboard, touch pad, numeric keypad, 17-in. LCD and built-in IP remote access capability in a compact housing that stores neatly in a 1U rack drawer and pulls out when needed. No server-resident software is required, so server performance and reliability are never compromised. Hot pluggable functionality enables servers or computers to be added or removed with no need to power down the KVM switch or disrupt the entire system. Upgradable firmware fine-tunes compatibility with emerging standards.

Flexible Installation Options

The B020-016-17-IP can be mounted in racks with depths ranging from 26.5 to 30 inches (rackmounting hardware included). Its dual-rail configuration enables the keyboard and LCD to be stowed in the rack independently. This gives IT personnel the option to monitor computer activity while keeping the keyboard stowed out of the way in the rack—ideal for applications where continuous system monitoring is necessary yet space is limited.

Accommodates External Consoles

For additional flexibility, the B020-016-17-IP is provided with PS/2 keyboard/mouse connections and an HD15 VGA monitor connection on the back of the unit. This enables an external console to be connected if necessary.

Supports Multiple Platforms

The B020-016-17-IP supports both PS/2 and USB connections (Tripp Lite P774-series PS/2 and P776-series USB KVM cable kits required; two 6-ft. PS/2 cable kits included; USB cable kits available separately). Because compatibility is based on common hardware standards rather than system software dependencies, almost any platform can be accommodated. Connect multiple versions of multiple platforms in any combination, including Windows®, Mac OS®, UNIX®, Linux and more.

Simple, Flexible Network Control

The B020-016-17-IP is designed to ease multi-server management in data centers, server rooms and other high-density environments. BIOS-level access allows network administrators to solve complex problems efficiently and restore service before downtime affects productivity. An advanced on screen display (OSD) with high-resolution VGA video up to 1280 x 1024 provides a graphical user interface with management tools including custom port labeling, auto-scanning and panel array mode. Users may also select a connected computer using on-console pushbuttons or keyboard hotkey commands. Two LEDs per KVM port indicate (1) when a computer is connected to a KVM port and powered on, and (2) when a computer is selected.

Control Multiple Servers

The B020-016-17-IP is capable of controlling up to 256 servers/computers by cascading additional KVMs (Tripp Lite model B022-U16). This gives network managers the flexibility to add capacity when it’s needed, accommodating growing data center requirements without disrupting existing equipment.

Access Servers Anywhere with Built-In IP Remote Access Capability

The B020-016-17-IP provides secure IP remote access to connected servers/computers via LAN, WAN or Internet without requiring additional rack space. IP remote access enables system administration, BIOS-level troubleshooting, GUI application installations, equipment reboots and more to be accomplished from any location using a standard Web browser or multi-platform client software. Dual bus support permits simultaneous access for one local and one remote user. The LCD incorporates a grayscale option to improve transfer speed in low bandwidth situations.

Secure Every Connection

The B020-016-17-IP offers two levels of password protection (administrator/user) to prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to connected servers/computers. IP remote access is further protected with security features including password protection, advanced encryption, bandwidth-optimized video and detailed activity logging. A message board feature allows logged-in users to communicate with one other and manage port access.

The B020-016-17-IP comes with a 1-year warranty. For government purchasers, it is compliant with the Federal Trade Agreements Act (TAA) for GSA Schedule purchases.

Additional KVM Accessories (Sold Separately)

To connect servers/computers to the KVM: a total of one PS/2 (P774-series) or USB (P776-series) KVM cable kit per server/computer is required (see below).
