The 1:15 USB Flash Drive & 2.5″ HDD/SSD Copy Tower from Aleratec offers a fast and reliable method of duplicating up to 15 flash drives or external 2.5″ hard drives/SSDs with a USB connection. This compact, standalone duplicator and sanitizer does not require a computer to operate. Its dual compatibility allows you to simultaneously copy 15 USB 3.0 and 2.0 flash drives or external 2.5″ USB hard disk drives/SSD drives.
The duplicator can sanitize external 2.5″ USB hard drives using 1-pass, 3-pass, and DoD 7-pass overwrite functions. All of the functions are controlled by an easy-to-read interface with backlit LCD display. Responsible organizations and individuals understand that sensitive, private data on their disposed or redeployed hard disk drives are vulnerable if those drives are not properly sanitized. The duplicator supports these efforts by offering independently verified overwrite sanitization that is “forensically unrecoverable”, and meets the criteria set forth in the NIST 800-88 guidelines for media sanitization.

Compatible with most popular brands of USB flash drives, external 2.5″ USB hard drives, or solid-state drives, copy functions include copy system and data only, copy complete drive, format FAT and FAT 32 file systems, and compare, which allows you to verify that the target devices are an exact copies of the original. Asynchronous duplication is a time-saving feature popular with IT professionals that writes the data to internal primary storage then duplicates it to target media. This allows you to remove and replace USB storage devices while other copies are running.
Sanitizing 2.5″ USB External Hard Drives
The 1:15 Copy Tower is also a powerful sanitization tool for 2.5″ external hard drives and can erase all traces of information. Because external USB hard drives often contain confidential information including passwords and financial data, proper sanitization protects you and your company from the growing risk of financial fraud. The 1:15 Copy Tower gives you a choice of the following overwrite functions, which include 1-pass wip, 3-pass wipe, and 7-pass wipe. 1-pass wipe is also referred to as single pass and is a one-wipe algorithm that writes meaningless data over every sector of the hard drive once and is primarily used for lower-risk applications. 3-pass wipe overwrites meaningless data over every sector of the hard drive three times and is a good choice for higher risk applications, while 7-pass wipe overwrite meaningless data over every sector seven times and is typically used for high security applications. Hard drives sanitized by Aleratec’s 7-Pass wipe have been verified by a leader in forensic data recovery as being “forensically unrecoverable” and meet the criteria set forth in NIST 800-88 guidelines for media sanitization.
