Avision 000-0657H-02G – AVISION Scanner AV620

The new Avision AV620N offers true duplex document scanning in a very compact desktop design. It features USB and Ethernet ports. The USB port can be used to scan from your computer’s software or to scan to a USB thumb drive. The Ethernet port enables you to share the scanner between 2 users on the network. Ease of use is exceptional thanks to Button Manager, the ability to quickly select profiles using the up/down buttons and the fact the profile names are displayed on the LCD display. You can name profiles by document type like Invoices, Receipts, photos and have different settings associated with each of those. You can associate profiles with destinations of your choice, e.g. JohnB, TracyM, GoogleDocs, DropBox, MSWord, etc.. Documents can be output to a range of file formats including JPEG, TIFF, PDF and text searchable PDF. With Avision’s Button Manager, you can also scan directly into most applications by just pointing to it. This includes MSWord, Outlook, file folders, Notepad, Google Translate, DropBox, Evernote, FTP, Sharepoint, GoogleDocs, Photoshop and many more. It’s that easy! The Avision AV620N ships with software for Windows XP, Win 7 (32 &64 bit) and Windows 8. Optional software is also available for Mac OS 10. Whilst the AV620N offers terrific value for money, please note that due to its compact design the paper handling will not be as versatile as other Avision models like the AV188 or AV280. It will of course work perfectly fine with typical office documents, but it won’t let you mix documents of significantly different size and thickness in the same scanning batch (e.g. business cards, consignment notes and A4 paper). Please also note the Ethernet port is there to enable scanner sharing between computers, but that it doesn’t offer direct scan to email functionality like the full featured Avision network scanners do.
