Designed as a comprehensive solution for distributing a signal to a variety of displays while maintaining picture quality, the AVPro Edge 18 Gb/s Up/Down Scaler provides integrators with the versatility to control up/down scaling, han­dle up to 4K HDR EDID issues, and extract audio from the stream.

The scaling capability allows incorporating 4K displays as well as legacy 480p, 720p, or 1080p models via fixed output options. The 18 Gb/s bandwidth support also ensures compatibility with future content. Other capabilities include interlaced to progressive scaling and onboard test pattern troubleshooting. Key functions can easily be controlled via a simple three-button, front-panel control interface with LED status indicators.

Key Features
4K and HDR Resolutions
UHD 4K60 4:4:4 and HDR, HDR10+, and HLG support (10/12-bit). Fixed output formats of 480p to 4K. Support for 4:4:4, 4:2:2, and 4:2:0 subsampling. Up to 12-bit 4K / 16-bit 1080p Deep Color.
High-Quality Audio
Supported audio formats include uncompressed PCM 2-channel, LPCM 5.1 and 7.1, Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD-Master Audio, and Dolby Atmos.
2-Channel Audio De-Embedding
PCM, no downmixing. The scaler has an audio output which allows audio to be stripped anywhere in a system and re-routed to where it’s needed most. Multiple scalers can be combined and multiple streams can be stripped from multiple outputs or sources.
Audio De-Embedding via TOSLINK
PCM 2-channel, LPCM 6-channel, LPCM 7-channel, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS HD-Master Audio.
Full HDR Support
With a plethora of HDR EDIDs to choose from, HDR can be activated on supporting displays no matter what the infrastructure requires. This allows flexibility in system design and enables you to maximize budgets by providing HDR content where you want it.
Fixed Output Up/Down Scaling
480p60, 720p60, 1080p60, WUXGA, UHD 4K30, UHD 4K60, UHD 4K60 YUV 4:2:2, and auto (sink device EDID). If, for example, you have a 720p display, set the scaler to 720p, and any inbound signal will be scaled up or down to 720p.
Interlaced to Progressive Scaling
This advanced technology will help installers overcome problematic 1080i sources by converting interlaced signals to progressive signals. For example, you can convert a 1080i signal to 1080p, 4K30, 4K60 4:2:0, or 4K60 4:4:4.
Adaptive Scaling Mode
This exclusive AVPro Edge technology was designed specifically to overcome problems with legacy sources, like set-top boxes outputting 720p or 1080i. When these legacy formats are implemented into modern, high-bandwidth distribution systems, sink devices can exhibit stability issues. The Adaptive Scaling mode will convert all signals less than 1080p to 1080p and will pass 4K and HDR signals through untouched. This will allow you to comfortably install legacy sources in modern systems.
Advanced EDID Management
There are 16 preloaded EDID settings from legacy technology (480) to full 4K and HDR options. The scaler also has custom user EDID for future use, total customization, and EDID bypass for using the sink EDID.
Onboard Troubleshooting
This scaler allows you to generate a 720p, 1080p, or 4K test pattern to identify external problems (source, repeater, displays, etc.) You can now be sure that your wiring is correct and get to the bottom of problems quickly should they arise, without having to worry if the source or sink is working properly.
