The Black Box ServView KVT319A-T is a rackmount keyboard and mouse unit with 19″ touch screen LCD.  This rackmount LCD unit features a high-clarity capacitive glass panel on top of the LCD. This coated glass overlay enables the screen to function as an intuitive input device, so instead of using a mouse as to point and click, you just touch the screen.  The capacitive touch screen works by using a small amount of current to form a uniform electric field that when touched, results in a voltage drop at a specific spot on the screen. Its embedded serial controller then senses and precisely measures this drop to determine touch location. 

Touch screens are ideal for situations in which you need to quickly access and change server settings in a hurry. They?re also particularly useful in automation and industrial control environments or any GUI-based application in which you use buttons to activate/deactivate specific functions and don?t require the click-and-drag movement of a mouse. (If you do require such click-and-drag cursor control, just use the mini trackball mouse in the ServView keyboard.)  Although the ServView touch screen is quite sensitive, it?s not at all thin-skinned. It has a durable overlay surface that?s more resistant to scratching, and the drawer assembly itself features an aluminum frame on its edges that helps protect the serial controller, analog-to-digital signal converter board, and LCD inverter inside.

To help you conserve energy, the LCD has low-energy standby and suspend modes through VESA Display Power Management Signaling (DPMS).
