Featuring eight analog channels, video-synchronization options via timecode, and a host of digital I/Os, theĀ BlackBox PlayerĀ fromĀ JoeCoĀ is designed to complement the BlackBox recorder by providing 64 channels of playback via MADI. Thus, audio stems for an entire slate of material-be it concert, broadcast, or exhibition-can be arranged into playlists and played directly from the BlackBox in stereo or surround. The playlists themselves are editable; should the setlist change, these XML files can be adjusted simply and quickly. They can also be looped.
The BlackBox player can be controlled in a variety of ways, including via MIDI commands, timecode, a QWERTY keyboard, a footswitch, or the JoeCoRemote for iPad. Furthermore, each channel can be separately equalized and level-balanced to better suit the strictures imposed by venue acoustics, audience generated noise during performances, or live-audio tracks played alongside prerecorded material. It also features a separate headphone output to provide an additional mix straight to the ears of someone like the music director of a performance, for instance.
The BlackBox player features these and a whole other host of features-and all of it in 1U of rackspace. Furthermore, its power supply is included.
