OWC Accelsior 1A Overview

Breathe new life into your old SSD with the Accelsior 1A Apple Factory SSD to PCIe Adapter Card from OWC. Designed specifically for use with Apple Factory SSDs, this adapter card supports transfer speeds up to 3000 MB/s. The PCIe 3.0 x4 interface enables hassle-free installation in PCIe 3.0, 2.0, and 1.0 motherboards with an available x4, x8, or x16 slot. Plus, the Accelsior 1A is bootable with compatible motherboards supporting booting via PCIe NVMe drives. An LED indicator allows for easy monitoring of drive activity, and the plug-and-play design means this adapter card can be easily integrated into a machine running on Windows 10, Windows Server 2016, or Mac OS 10.13.6 or later.

Compatibility
This product is compatible with Apple factory SSDs that originally shipped with the Mac models listed as compatible. In addition, the following OWC SSDs are compatible: Aura Pro X2, Aura Pro X, Aura N. This product is not compatible with standard M.2 drives. AKiTiO or OWC PCIe enclosures have their own minimum system requirements which must be met when used in combination with this product. Booting support requires that your motherboard BIOS support booting via PCIe NVMe drives. Booting on Mac Pro (2010-2012) requires macOS 10.14.6. Furthermore, the data-transfer rate will vary based on SSD used, CPU capabilities, and PCIe slot used.

The Accelsior 1A is a plug-and-play solution that gives your factory SSD new life inside a 2010, 2012, 2019 Mac Pro, or Windows computer with an open PCIe slot. Alternatively, put your drive back to work externally in a PCIe expansion chassis like the OWC Mercury Helios 3S, available separately.

To get started, simply install your SSD into the Accelsior 1A connector port, then secure the SSD to the Accelsior 1A with supplied screw.
