The Vela Rack SDI from SCIENCE IMAGE is a versatile multi-protocol encoder/decoder/recorder with a 3.4″, high-brightness, touchscreen display. Capable of encoding 12G-SDI/UHD 4K signals for live streaming with support for RTMP/RTSP/SRT/Full NDI/HX2/HX3. The Vela Rack SDI boasts multiple audio functions, including monitoring, mixing, and intercom. It has an integrated tally system and provides bidirectional optical transceiver and USB-A connectivity.

Simultaneous Encoding & Decoding
The unit encodes 12G-SDI UHD 4K60 and video streams such as RTMP/RTSP/SRT/Full NDI/HX2/HX3. It decodes NDI coming from a switcher or remote simultaneously, allowing a camera operator to view and monitor a return signal in real time and sync with a director.
3.4″ Integrated Touchscreen Display
The integrated 3.4″ flip touchscreen display offers high-brightness and 960 x 412 resolution. It displays natural colors and provides a user-friendly UI for easy and convenient operation with a built-in speaker for intercom/stereo/audio monitor functions.
4K Recording with Optional SSD
Record HD video and up to UHD 4K60 with 10-bit 4:4:4 quality with pause, play, review, and forward functions using an optional, high-speed SSD via an optional SCIENCE IMAGE SSD dock. A single drive can record up to 5.5 hours of high-quality video at up to 100 Mb/s.
Multiple Connection Options
The Vela Rack SDI integrates a 12G-SDI input and 12G-SDI loop output, an HDMI output, a bi-directional optical transceiver port, and USB-A.
Audio Monitoring, Mixing & Intercom Functions
A 3.5mm stereo port provides mic and headphone connectivity, with support for intercom, monitoring, and mixing functions.
