Suitable for journalists and independent creators, this kit includes a Cartoni 75mm Focus 8 fluid head tripod system, a wireless mic bundle, an HVL-LBPC dimmable video light, a Porta Brace PXW-Z280 rain cover, and one BP-U60 and two BP-U30 lithium-ion batteries. Stow the camera and all the accessories except the tripod in the carry-on Think Tank V20 roller case.

• PXW-Z280 4K 3-CMOS 1/2″ Sensor XDCAM Camcorder

  Sony’s PXW-Z280 4K 3-CMOS 1/2″ Sensor XDCAM Camcorder continues the fine tradition of the XDCAM series of cameras. It captures 4K at up to 60p relying on three 1/2″ Exmor R sensors that provide improved low-light capability when compared to standard sensors. The camera integrates a 17x optical zoom lens and an electronic variable ND filter. The camera supports modern codecs such as XAVC, as well as legacy codecs such as MPEG HD and DVCAM, allowing you to use one camera to shoot 4K, HD, or SD video.

  The camera supports S-Log 3 for improved performance, and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) which allows you to shoot and deliver footage compatible with both HDR (high dynamic range) and SDR (standard dynamic range) without needing laborious post-production work. You can record in both 4K and HD simultaneously, or output 4K 60p via the built-in 12G-SDI output. The camera features built-in 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi.

• BP-U60 Lithium-Ion Battery

  The Sony BP-U60 is a lithium-ion battery designed for professional video shooting in both the field and the studio. This battery is equipped with the INFO function that communicates battery status data to the PMW-EX1 camcorder.

  The remaining capacity of the battery is displayed on the LCD monitor and viewfinder when the camcorder is powered on.

• MEAD-SD02 SDHC/SDXC Card Adapter for XDCAM EX Camcorders / Equipment

  The MEAD-SD02 SDHC/SDXC Card Adapter from Sony enables the use of a Class 10 SDHC/SDXC memory card, including UHS-1, in the ExpressCard slot of XDCAM EX equipment, such as camcorders and recording decks. It will also work with other ExpressCard compatible hardware, such as Windows and Mac computers and storage drives.

  Although the SxS PRO and SxS-1 cards intended for the memory slots in XDCAM models offer higher performance, SDHC and SDXC cards are more readily available in a pinch when additional memory is required. This adapter, which is the same size as an SxS memory card, provides a viable solution in this type of situation.

  Please note that use of the slow motion recording function is not recommended, due to the speed limitations of SD cards. XDCAM EX hardware may require a firmware upgrade in order to support the use of the adapter.

  The Sony ECM-MS2 Stereo Electret Condenser Microphone is designed for mounting on professional camcorders equipped with 2 XLR inputs and phantom powering. The microphone also delivers good sound performance in field and studio-production applications. The MS microphone signal of the ECM-MS2 microphone is internally decoded, and provides L and R (stereo) outputs. The MS2 stereo microphone also supports mono operation by simply unplugging the right channel (disabling phantom power from the right channel XLR connector).

  Giving you the ability to simultaneously receive audio from 2 compatible UWP-D series transmitters as well as a third wired microphone, the URX-P03D from Sony is a portable digital audio receiver that offers wide frequency coverage with up to 72 MHz bandwidth across a broad range of channels. Its integrated 3-channel mixer allows you to control your levels as well as assign outputs freely. The URX-P03D receiver can be mounted directly (without cables) onto many Sony cameras that have an MI (Multi-Interface) Shoe by using the optional SMAD-P3D two-channel shoe adapter.
