Part of the Stem Audio ecosystem for conference rooms, the Stem Wall is an elegant, 48″ speakerphone that easily mounts on a wall or credenza, ideal if you prefer to keep devices off your conference table. It connects to your local network with PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) or to a computer in meeting rooms, collaboration areas, huddle rooms, or even in unequipped conferencing spaces. Designed with the user in mind, with a clean, minimal, and familiar user interface, it combines high-level audio pickup with state-of-the-art sound quality to enhance the conferencing experience for all participants.
The Stem Wall is optimized for walls and furniture surfaces. It features 15 beamforming microphones located on the front of the device, two speakers located at both ends, and two subwoofers in the back. This design ensures that the speakers and mics are separated to improve speech intelligibility.
The beamforming microphones feature voice-activity detection and automatic tracking of the person speaking to accurately capture speech within a 20′ radius. Automatic gain control adjusts the volume of people close to and far from the microphones, while adaptive echo cancellation, dereverberation, and background noise reduction ensure comfortable communication, free from distracting sounds. The full-range speakers provide clear audio and high-output volume.
The Stem Wall is compatible with all your favorite video conferencing platforms including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Meet, and others. It is also Alexa-enabled. The unit comes with a Kensington lock so you can keep it secure in your conference room.
Simple to Mount and Set Up, Easy to Use with Intuitive Controls
- Two keyholes on the back of the Stem Wall are designed for screwing the unit into a wall surface. VESA mounting holes are also available for TV wall mounts and A/V carts. There is also a built-in mount for a Huddly IQ camera.
- Connect the unit to your local network that supports PoE+ (Power over Ethernet). This connection provides the device with power, data, and other IoT and SIP capabilities.
- If your network doesn’t support PoE+, you must use a separate PoE+ injector or PoE+ enabled switch (both available separately).
- The unit powers up automatically, and when the blue lights turns solid, you’re ready to go. So, one simple cable is all you need!
- The side of the device houses two volume + & – buttons that let you increase or decrease the volume of what you hear in your room.
- A mute button cuts the microphone, preventing other people in the call from hearing what is being said in the room.
Designed for the Modern Meeting Room
- Visible to all participants in the room, LED light dots with blue and red colors clearly indicate the status of the unit.
- Slow-pulsing red lights show that the device is muted and fast-pulsing red lights show that the device is being pinged.
- During a call, as you walk around the room or different people talk in the room, the blue lights move to follow the person who is speaking and indicating that the device hears them and is picking them up clearly.
Real-Beamforming Technology for Accurate Voice Capture
- The 15 beamforming microphones work together to provide full coverage within a 10′ range.
- The direction-finding algorithm determines the presence and direction of the person speaking and the beamforming algorithm points the microphone pickup in that direction, ensuring that everyone in the room can be heard clearly by the participants on the far end of the call.
Deep Learning for Clearer Communication
- The Stem Wall utilizes neural networks to improve echo-canceling, dereverb, and noise cancellation algorithms.
- Adaptive echo canceler removes echo to achieve smoother reciprocal conversations.
- Noise reduction eliminates noise and conveys only voice.
- Dereverberation conveys clear voice by reducing reverberation caused by the acoustics of the room.
Versatile Setup Options
Standalone Setup with Network
- Using an Ethernet cable, connect the device to your local network that supports PoE+.
Standalone Setup with Computer
- If you need video conferencing capabilities, use the included USB Type-B cable to connect the device to your macOS/Windows/Linux computer.
- Note: You must also use a separate PoE+ injector or PoE+ enabled switch to provide power to the unit.
Networked Setup with Multiple Stem Ecosystem Devices in the Room
- Follow the same instruction as with standalone setup with network.
- When setting up multiple Stem devices in a room, you must use a Stem Audio Hub (available separately) as all communications between the devices and the far end are done through the Hub.
